The global market share of aluminum caps continues to grow

The European Aluminum Cap Professional Committee (ACG) recently said that more and more wine, spirits, cooking oil and drinking water packaging products began to use aluminum caps. According to Euromonitor International, while total wine consumption in Europe has declined during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, the proportion of ordinary light wines using aluminum screw caps has grown to nearly 35%, compared with more than 36% globally.

 

According to ACG's research, aluminum caps have five advantages that make them the best choice for bottle caps.

 

First, aluminum caps can protect product flavor and reduce waste. Aluminum bottle caps have good barrier properties, can avoid microbial, moisture or gas pollution to the product, at the same time, can also prevent the rapid oxidation of sensitive products such as wine, thereby extending the shelf life and expiration date of the product, to ensure flavor and taste.

 

Globally, a large amount of wine is wasted each year due to the use of traditional bottle stoppers contaminated by compound corks (TCA), while aluminum bottle caps do not produce polluting substances TCA, which can significantly reduce the amount of wine wasted. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to further promote aluminum bottle caps to replace traditional corks in the field of wine.
